LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami leader Sirajul Haq said secular parties were determined to damage the country’s ideological base.
In a statement released to Mansoora on Wednesday, he said the PTI was pursuing the policies of the old governments but trying to deceive the masses on behalf of the state of Medina.
“There is no difference between the policies of PTI, PML-N and PPP. They are sides of the same coin and protect personal interests. “
He said the majority of parliamentarians belonged to the feudal class, having nothing to do with the masses.
He said the country cannot move forward without getting rid of the ruling elite. He said that a peaceful democratic struggle is necessary to empower the people and democracy.
There was an urgent need to strengthen Pakistan’s Election Commission and accountability system, he said, adding that the PTI government has attacked the ECP and NAB and weakened other institutions over the past three years. years.
Stressing the need for consensus among political parties for electoral reforms, he said free and fair elections were essential to put the country on the right track. Likewise, he said, there was an urgent need to strengthen the accountability system, which the PTI failed to do during his reign.
He said the PTI had also attempted to impose the secular agenda in the education system with the support of Western and anti-religious forces. He said that the Pakistani people will never tolerate such elements which try to damage the ideological basis of the country.
