LISTEN: “Heresy” from poignant new track by Miss Vincent – News

A powerful track with a personal message at its heart.
Miss Vincent has shared a new song, and it’s one of their most important to date.
The track is called ‘Heresy’ and on its dark punk instrumental, the band dreams of growing up in an environment that won’t allow you to be yourself.

I went to a religious elementary school, and “Fathers” who preached to us in the chapel taught us three things: Be tough because you are a man, don’t be gay and fear God or he will punish you. I know there are many good-hearted believers. in the world, so Heresy is not an anti-religion song in general, it’s just my experience of the intersection of patriarchy and church.
There is a quote from Sartre at the end of the video which says “If I have won anything by damning myself, it is because I have nothing more to fear”. This song is for everyone who damned themselves to be free. “
