LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami leader Sirajul Haq has said Imran Khan is not entitled to serve as prime minister if the PTI fails to prove transparency on the foreign funding file.

“There must be an impartial investigation into the matter” according to JI’s media cell in Mansoora, he was addressing the workers’ convention in Samma Satta Bahawalpur.

The JI chief also announced on Sunday that he would organize a nationwide protest against the Sindh local government law. He said people would show solidarity with the JI Karachi sit-in against black law. The sit-in continued for more than a week in front of the Sindh Assembly. Sirajul Haq reached Bahawalpur after attending the sit-in on Friday night. A large number of people including the representative of JI Youth and JI Kissan participated in the workers’ convention.

Sirajul Haq also asked the court to reconsider its decision regarding the demolition of Madina Masjid Karachi. He said if the Prime Minister’s illegally built house could be regularized after a small fine, then what was the obstacle to legalizing the mosque. He said that building mosques was the responsibility of an Islamic state.

The JI chief said the PTI failed to keep its promise to turn Pakistan into Midian State. He said the usuary and other anti-religious practices had become a permanent feature of the successful country in the name of Islam. He said that the PTI, PML-N and PPP were the clubs of feudal lords and imperialists. The three parties that have ruled the country for decades have failed to relieve the masses. He said inflation and unemployment had become the hallmarks of the PTI government.

He said the masses would no longer be ready to accept the parties of the status quo. He said the country needs honest and dedicated leadership and that only Jamaat-e-Islami can meet the desired demand. He said the OMC would bring real change and put Pakistan on the right track if elected to power.
