Singer Anuradha Paudwal has recently opened up about the demand for a ban on the practice of playing Azaan on loudspeakers. According to her, it should be banned in India as it is not practiced in other countries. Anuradha said she has been all over the world but she has never seen it practiced anywhere other than India.

The singer also said that this does not in any way mean that she is anti-religious, but this practice is much encouraged. She also said that other communities of other religions would wonder why they don’t practice it.

In an interview with Zee News, Paudwal said: “I have visited many places around the world. I haven’t seen anything like it except in India. I am not against any religion, but it is strongly encouraged here. They play Azaan on the loudspeakers of the mosque. Other communities wonder if they can use loudspeakers, why can’t others do the same”

She added, “I have traveled to countries in the Middle East. Loudspeakers are prohibited. While Muslim countries discourage it, why are such practices necessary in India? » Paudwal also said that if this practice of playing Azaan continues, people will also start playing Hanuman Chalisa on loudspeakers. “It will lead to disharmony, which is not good.”

Earlier, Sonu nigam also spoke against Azaan on loudspeakers in 2017. The singer received a lot of backlash.
